Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Research the permaculture aid and development program
   • Obtain information about the program
   • Research the program, its community and bioregion
   • Research the living conditions, expectations and issues before becoming involved
2. Work within the permaculture aid and development program
   • Become familiar with the permaculture aid and development program
   • Ask questions and accept feedback from those already involved in the program
   • Contribute in a positive way and within the guidelines of the project
   • Ensure your own safety and the safety of others and do not take undue risks
3. Support the ongoing work of the permaculture aid and development program
   • Communicate effectively with others involved in the program
   • Support the aims and objectives of the program and help communicate these to others
   • Work to undo misunderstandings about communities requiring aid and the project work involved
   • When leaving the program ensure that own involvement has been constructive
